I wouldn't care 'cause machines are for the birds,
Oh, I wouldn't care 'cause machines are for the birds...
Every night, we watch the same surprise,
And you ripped his wings off of his arms, and
He stared through the blooming door.
Scarecrows came walking through the rows toward him.
"Have you seen the missing lady of this wood?"
"Oh, no, sir. It's oh so sad: she was taken away,
Taken away."
Moonlight was making his skin glow like the fireflies he'd taken
From the tiny scarecrows in a hurry.
They'd said, "Sir, you'll need these on your journey."
He came upon a wishing well.
He leaned forward and he fell,
Softly floating down on wings of fireflies,
And he saw her lying there, tangles in her hair,
In her hair.
Oh, a pretty broken wrist
Was clutched under her fist,
Her ankles were all wound
About a silver gown.

"Lady of the Wood" by Eisley.

---

Based off of the song above. A lot of people seem to be identifying the scarecrow as Jack Skellington... >.> He's actually supposed to look like the husband from Eisley's video of Memories. (For those of you familiar with the song, I had the idea that after he'd gotten lost, he stumbled upon a farm much like his own, and with the wonderful Lady of the Wood gone, those that worked on the farm (some type of fantasy creatures) became corrupt and made him into a scarecrow. So he watches over a farm that could be so much better with his care (since he loves it so much) as a scarecrow and hopes for the Lady of the Wood to return... but she's dead. ;__; )

I did this entirely in pen with some minor editing in photoshop, and it took a long ass time, so if you have anything to say against, I dun wanna hear it, kthxplox.

How lovely! I love the way you did the background. It shows depth and makes it look like your standing right in front of the scarecrow. Nice work!
:3 Thank you kindly.

I actually thought of the scarecrow from howl's moving castle when i saw this. Anyway, I like it lots.

I used the Crayola marker more than your pen. It was already really bad when I started. DX
